The esoteric history of this part of East Dallas, and 2100 in particular, can not be understated. Once home to a circus commune, and then a Boy Scout campground, the 2100 property lay as an overgrown eyesore for over 30 years. Abandoned in 1974, the property was purchased in 2005.
The new owners took on the daunting task of beautifying, adding infrastructure, and building a space that preserved the spirit of the neighborhood and the natural wooded landscape. The result was 2100, an event space in the heart of East Dallas, which hosts art and music events, and functions benefitting national and local charities.
